Spouse Citizenship

Post by atom » Tue Nov 02, 2010 9:48 pm

My spouse and i had our ILR Nov 09. She joined me in the UK in Jan 07. Previous to this i was on a Highly skilled visa.

Can we both apply for British Citizenship this month.

If not, can someone explain why this is not possible and what options she has to attain citizenship.

Thanks for the help.

If applying together, then both of you must satisfy the standard requirements.

Alternatively, after you naturalise and are granted citizenship (naturalisation certificate), your spouse may then apply for naturalisation as spouse of British citizen as and when requirements for spouse /civil partners are met.
