I want to go back home

Post by farhan_raja » Wed Nov 03, 2010 10:32 am

Hi,
I overstayed on my student visa by 3 years. Now i want to go back home but my passport has expired. Will my country let me enter with my expired passport?

Plane may not let you on board.

Contact your embassy for a new passport.

Then when you've got one buy a ticket and go home. It's as easy as that. At some departure gates at airports there are UKBA staff who check for Failed Asylum Seekers and overstayers. They may ask you a few questions and serve some paper on you, but they won't stop you catching your flight.

And there is no nationwide UK embarcation control. I travelled out of UK via Gatwick North a few weeks ago and there were no Immigration Officers there.

Don't worry. If all you want to do is go home and not come back for a long time, nothing bad will happen to you.

Nope, one year. Unless you used deception to get your student visa.
I tell it like it is.
