uk tourist or vistor in transit visa

Hi all,
i was in uk for 4 years ,first entered as student and then psw and i applied for czech visa from London in month of august ,but my psw expired in October , so i had to return back to my home country (india) ,

i have just received confirmation from czech embassy and they have granted me visa but i have to collect visa in person from czech embassy in london .

So can someone please advise me should i apply for uk tourist visa ??

or visitor in transit visa but for transit visa i don't have visa stamp for czech on my passport ,for onward journey .All i have is email confirmation from czech embassy in london .

p.s i have my passport with me .i have to collect visa from london,can't collect it from czech embassy in india .

It may be strange to apply for a visitor visa to the UK for the purpose of collecting a Czech visa.

Can you not apply for another Czech visa in India?

i can but then i have to start all procedure from the begining and i have to literally start from square one .!!!!!

which i can't do ,it took me 3 months to gather docs when i was in india last and 2 more months as more docs were required when i was in uk .

I have been reading, but can't really find much in terms of this. Are you flying to the UK to collect the visa and then return to India or are you then going onwards to the Czech Republic?

If you are going onwards to the Czech Republic, then you can always plan your flights like that, but I am not sure if you will be stopped based on the fact that you don't have the correct visa yet. And that a transit visa is really only meant for transit, not actually doing something in the UK.

The safe option would seem to be the visitor visa.

Can you not courier/post your passport to the UK to get the visa issued?
