Hi,

One of my friend got his HSMP in Dec 2008, but could not travel to UK because of personal reasons.
His visa expires in Dec 2011( 3 years visa )
Is it mandatory that he stays in UK for a min period of 1 year before he gets his extension ?
Or can he travel to UK sometime next year, work there for 6-8 months and get his visa extension ?

Please let me know.
