MyEU 1 application

Post by tonewcountry » Tue Nov 16, 2010 7:25 pm

Hello Everyone. i am new here just joined today,

i came to Ireland on 20th sept. 2010. on visa D on behalf of EU treaty rights. but on airport the officer gave me permission to stay 1 month till 20 oct. but my wife got part time job on 18th oct only so i didnt have full documents to apply for EU 1 . by the way on stamp in passport is written by law with in 3 months to register, so i went to Garda station and they told me to bring letter from EU treaty right. so yesterday i was able to submit all documents.
1) was i illegal in those days from 20th oct. till 15 nov. ??
2)also my wife (EU)works part time about 25 hrs a week as we have a infant baby (also EU)i am taking care of her now. will it affect my application.?
3) how much time does it take to give the decision for EU FAM card. these days as there r a lot of cases of sham marriages in ireland as i read in newspaper .
please leave comment or Reply
thanks a lot
with best regards

No, once you are living with your EU spouse in accordance with the directive, you are considered legal. The EU1 application is just a formality that shows your entitlement to residence.

No, not all.

Applications must be processed within 6 months. INIS have been known to go over the 6 months a tad, but just remind them close to 6 months of their legal obligation to process the application within 6 months. Some less complex applications may take less than 6 months.
