If you have not yet joined, then please do so at http://unitefamilies.org. Its a non-profit, independent group with a sole purpose of uniting families who have been separated because of the current immigration laws.
This is the best chance legal permanent residents have to address this issue and make it more widely known to Congress. But, we need more people to join, to sign the online petition, to contact Congress and to donate so that the lobbyist working for us can keep pushing our issue forward.
On Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 14th, American Families United and UniteFamilies.org, with the support of the Day Without an Immigrant Coalition and other pro-immigrant organizations, will make a national call for Congress to enact immigration laws that reflect our national values and reunite the more than one million Americans, both U.S. citizens and legal permanent residents, who are separated by current immigration law. Town hall meetings and other Mother’s Day events are planned in Philadelphia and other cities around the country.
Please see more info about these events at unitefamilies.org and americanfamiliesunited.org
People, its about group unity. This issue was neglected before, and it will be again if we do not make a group effort to show how archaic the current immigration law is. Please help.
