Tier 2 application-without CoS number?

Post by pokale2600 » Fri Sep 24, 2010 11:55 am

Hi All,

I have recently applied for tier 2 visa without CoS. However i attached letter from my employer requesting UKBA to hold on to application until we get a CoS.

Has any one did the same before?? Could you guys please share your experience if you have gone through similar situation? not sure how long UKBA will hold on to application. if they dont, will i get a chance to appeal?

Regards

Hey,

I did the same thing but was lucky to get my CoS come through exactly 2 weeks from the initial application date. I sent this in as soon as I received it from my employer.

Long and short of the story is that my application was considered as normal however I can't be too sure whether or not a case-worker had already been assigned to my application as at the time I sent in the CoS. If I were you, I'd try to delay progress on the visa application so as to buy yourself more time to send your CoS through. For example, you can delay getting your biometrics done until 2 to 3 days before the required deadline (I think you've got 15 days from the date you received the letter). This should give you another 10 to 12 days to get your CoS sent in.

Just to reiterate, I can't be too sure that the letter from my employer which was included in my initial application was considered by the case worker as I couldn't tell whether or not a case worker had began working on my application or that a case worker had been assigned to my application.

I wish you all the best.

Same situation here. I do not have a COS and the company's sponsor licence application was rejected. We are waiting to send it again.
My visa runs out on 1st of November. Do not know what to do.
I spoke to a solicitor and he asked £500 for full representation for my Tier 2 application only. He sounded very confident and said that if they represent my case, it is very likely to be successful. Do you guys think is worth paying this sort of money or there is nothing a solicitor can do more than I can?

Thanks.

Hello,

October panel has refused our request for a CoS. they are not considering a CoS requests for PSW switching in to Tier 2.

as my Tier 2 application is under consideration (without CoS) since my visa was running out i decided to apply for tier 2 without CoS. am i allowed to work legally until UKBA refuses my application?? i believe my status remains same (PSW) until they refuse my application. will be helpful if anyone could provide me a reference for it!?

thanks,

PS: hi Genuinealb, If your lawyer is representing you for Tier 2 application only. then i dont think its worth investing £500 for that. My understanding is lawyer will complete and submit your application howeveer issue is CoS and not your application. if you dont get CoS i dont think you visa application will be considered whoever represents your case.

I completed my visa application on my own if you have required documents its quite easy to complete it. then i attached a letter signed by CEO n authorising officer explaing why my role is critical for company and requesing UKBA to hold on to my application until we are issued with a CoS.

So my advise is complete and submit your visa application on your own unless your are strugling with completing it or your lawyer has some internal link in UKBA  .

Hope it helps. Best of luck.

Yes.

And, please don't make multiple posts on the same topic.

Hi,
could you please explain what do you mean by your above statement?why are they refusing CoS requests for PSW switching to Tier2?
company applied for licence in second week of september and still awaiting a response. assuming, they get the licence this week and apply for CoS next week will they be able to get it by nov.
Thanks

Hi PriceSoft,
Can you let me know what documents you sent to Home office after you received your COS number(after 2weeks from your initial application)?
And to which Home office address you submit your document (Sheffield or DURHAM)?

Thanks in advance.
