Moving to Sweden soon..

Post by wendy4ever25 » Thu Nov 25, 2010 11:17 am

hi guys,

Basically I'm from UK. I will soon go to Sweden for a job. It might take longer so i think I will live there for good. What are the qualifications on becoming a citizen there? How many years does it take for me to be qualified?

thanks!

The people I do know who got naturalised Swedish had to give up their birth citizenship.

I know many Irish and UK nationals who have been living in Sweden 15 or more years, with Swedish wives and teenage Swedish children, and none of them have even bothered about going for Swedish citizenship.
There is no point.

Exactly! If you are EU citizen there is no point in pursuing citizenship as you already have almost all the rights as the citizen of Sweden.
