Can anyone help me with my CP visa application, please??

Post by pedrobandeira » Wed Dec 01, 2010 5:22 pm

Hi, I am a Brazilian applying for a civil partnership visa with a British partner on Friday(03rd Dec) and I am still confused about my partner's copy of the passport. He will not be with me for the application and I do not have a ''certified'' copy of his passport as they would not do certified copies of foreign passports in Brazil. I have checked the supporting documents checklist(VAF4A) and they do not mention it needs to be a certified copy, so I have only a stardard copy of his passport and also three scanned copies of the original. I would like to know if that will affect badly my visa application or not. Could someone answer me as soon as possible, please? Pedro Bandeira

If you're not submitting the original passport (as with any other important documents) you'll need to have this legally certified. Surely there are notaries in Brazil who offer this service? An uncertified copy won't be acceptable.
