PSW visa for a student failing MSc but gettin PGDip instead?

PSW visa for a student failing MSc but gettin PGDip instead?

hi mates... i am from India. i took up an MSc course in university of nottingham but failed it and got a PG Diploma instead. Am i likely to get a PSW visa in this condition?

Hi, I am in the same situation as ramjammer. I failed my MSc course in the University of Manchester and was awarded a Postgraduate Diploma instead.

I have read on some older posts on this forum that as long as the PGD is at "level 7" then this is equivalent to a Bachelor's degree (which I would need to confirm with my uni). However, the posts are from a few years ago so I was wondering if this is still the case since I have not been able to find anything stating this on the HO information pages.

Ok, I think I've found the answer to our question ramjammer, just take a look at this post.

Looks like we won't be able to get a PSW visa after all. :cry:

Still, I'm wondering if anyone knows of any other options for us?

Qualifications that are not acceptable

Qualifications that cannot be used for the award of points include:

* foundation degrees;
* honorary degrees;
* qualifications awarded in the United Kingdom by overseas awarding bodies;
* qualifications undertaken in overseas campuses of United Kingdom institutions;
* professional and vocational qualifications; and
* postgraduate certificates or diplomas.
