Mistake on one of my Answers

Here is what Visa4UK says...

I made a mistake on one of my answers. Can I change it?
No. Once you have submitted your online application you cannot change it. However, please enter any changes in writing on your printed copy of the application form.

But I need clarification. I wanted to make my entry date 3 months from my visa application, which is 7 December. I put 6 February, but just realized that's only two months.

If I want to put 6 March, am I supposed to cross it out on my printed application and write 6 March? Or should I not mark on my printed application and just write it in the covering letter?

1) Is your application already submitted? If so, how do you plan on changing now? If not submitted, why not print and submit a new form?

2) Covering letter is worthless. No one cares whats written on it, only stuff on the form is considered while making a decision.

It has been submitted online, but not physically mailed. When you submit online, we get an application form to print. I am assuming this is what they are talking about when they say "enter any changes in writing on your printed copy of the application form."

Aah no, I always had to apply using the forum directly in a VFS office (India). So make your changes on your application form, not on the covering letter. The letter is not even needed imho.
