Are you sure about this? Speaking from personal experience this certainly wasn't the case when my wife was granted a spouse visa in October (applied in July). I have not come across any requirement for a British Citizen to inform the UKBA if they are going to Pakistan to get married.Sammad wrote: Also, I think sometime back I heard that you have to inform the UKBA if you go from England to Pakistan with intention to marry, this is so they know that it is not a forced marriage.
If you mentioned you went to Pakistan to get married, and had not met your partner before (like at a family visit) then I think they can say why you did not inform them.
Hopefully 'necessary formalities' means attaching the visa vignette to the passport. Insha'Allah.samera wrote:I decided to email gerry's to see what happened to the application. This is the reply i got from them.
''Once an application is processed in UK it does not come directly to Gerry’s instead it would land in British High Commission Islamabad for necessary formalities. We at Gerry’s have no control over the process or the process time of an application. We will only be able to arrange collection once we are in possession of your document. We suggest that you log on to www.ukvacpk.com in order to track the status of your application''.
I dont understand whats taking so long because i thort applications after the 25th of October were being processed in Islamabad and not UK?? Also when my husband submitted the paperwork he was told 7 weeks.
Looking at your last few comments, it appears you are not thinking rationally. First of all you need to state reasons for refusal as per the notice given to your hubby. The raesons might be completely different from what you think you have been refused for.Sending documents etc without seeking advice first from profeesional advisor might not be a good idea.dilseabbassi wrote:Right well ive got everything sorted to send like more payslips and bank statements...im just hopeing thats all they need inshallah! as i dont see how we can supply anyore info with regards to telling them about our relationship starting in 2007? I really hope they over turn the decission cos im exhausted now with all of this its such a pain why cant they just come to your home and interveiw you, that would be so much easyer they could see for them self we are such a happy couple with a lovely home and that by keeping us apart for such a long time is so not fair!
You need to get your hubby to send you the refusal notice and appeal form as you or your advisor will need to see and complete the appeal on your behalf here in the UK.dilseabbassi wrote:Thanks guys, this forum really has helped me alot, he did read it to me word for word earlier but i was so shocked and a bit dazzled that i cant actually remember word for word so i will do it again tomorow and see what u guys think, yeah i was gona get solicitor to help me but the only problem is that i work monday to friday 9-6 so i dont actually know how im going to do it? oce again thank you all so much for your help we really appreciate it
dilseabbassi wrote:Sorry about that i cant really think at the moment my head has just gone completely blank...the 2 reasons for refusal was 1 we didnt inform the UKBA about our relationship in 2007...2nd was that becuase i claimed JSA they didnt feel satisfied that i am able to support him...so im guessing all they need is more financial proof? i really need help but i dnt know what to do

I am so sorry to hear this i know how it feelsunique012 wrote:Salaam everyone, I just came on to tell you all that my husband's application has been refused and we have to go through the appeal process. I'm not 100% sure why there were 3 reasons not major ones though. He is going to fax me the reasons tonight. Am so upset, this is not fair
it can take up to 9 months, but if you get the points why it was refused & make it clear it can take about a month to overturn the decision if not it will go to court then it will take time.unique012 wrote:it takes around 10 days, dats depends on when they sent them so you might get a reply tomorrow or the day after. Do you know how long the appeal process takes?
