Why Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) not getting points ?????

Post by Tirma » Thu Dec 16, 2010 12:48 am

I've done PGD and got my PSW 2 years ago. 2 months ago, I've applied for Tier 1 General and still waiting for the decision.

When I applied, Point Based Calculator gave me point for my qualification. After 2 weeks of my application, the calculator stopped giving points for the qualification. I don't know whether they have stopped giving points for PGD or not.

I believe they should give me point as the calculator gave me point when I applied.

What you guys say about this particular case.

Hope to hear from you. Many thanks.

Please post details of the PGD - some colleges who were awarding bogus qualifications were removed.

Worst case scenario if they refuse you you will get the visa on appeal because it was recognised before and it was in the calculator y they have taken it out without any notice.
and as far as i think they will give visa before april 2011 and they will stop everything after that as everyone know and the reason they stop the pgd points because lots of application came fro psw to tier 1 general thats y but you will get it

As far as I know they only removed self-awarded qualifications not all PGDs and PGC's.

Thanks Tazawan,

I didn't know about Self Assessment Form to be filled up, so I didn't. I used Point Based Calculator to check my points. I got 100 points in total and I applied by filling the form with all the necessary documents.

How likely is it to get visa in appeal if they refuse?

More comments are highly appreciated. Thanks.

Your application will be refused. And if you get the right of appeal then be prepared to fight in the court.

People say that Bites is not a regular college and its a bogus college then why its in A category in the list.
the chances of you getting a visa is very good if they refuse u get a lawyer and he will fight a case and the judge will give decision in ur favour because home office try and refuse so they issue refusal and people get visa in appeal if home office is right y they get visa after appeal they shouldnt get the visa but home office try their best .they will give you the visa dont worry and wait for the decision and dont ask lots of people and dont search too much if its return in your destiny and god wants you to stay here then you will even no matter what ok and god know our situation ok brother take care and think positive .

Is the BITE postgraduate diploma internally awarded? If so the UK Border Agency only has the college's word for it that it is equivalent to a recognised post graduate diploma, and maybe the UK Border Agency is not willing to take the college at its word.
