Tier 1 HMRC letter v/s payslips

Post by psdesai » Thu Dec 16, 2010 8:49 am

Hi,

I have few missing payslips for my extension application. I heard on the forum that you could produce a letter (requested from HMRC) for the period you need.

My Questions are as follows:

(1) Can I request a letter from HMRC for the period I need or they only give April to March (i.e. tax year period)?
(2) If they give me the above letter for the sepcified perioed then can I just show that letter (and the bank statement) in my application?
(3) could anyone provide what kind of letter they give (an example or sample)?
(4) Who should I contact for this letter. My local tax office?

Many Thanks,

if you are missing payslips, you need to ask your EMPLOYER for those. They should be able to re-print you those or if not possible, then they should be able to write a letter which should the amounts you earned in those months and a signature possibly.

This is the thing. My emp. is not willing to co-operate. They will not provide proper letter. :(
Hence the question. Can I get away with using HMRC letter ?

Thanks
