dependant visa requirements

Post by shahbazali » Fri Dec 17, 2010 11:05 am

i m doing mba which is finishing on 31 july 2011 according to my cas letter. if i apply visa of my dependants on 20 jan 2011 ( my course would be remaining 6 months and 10 days ), will it be ok.
i ve depositted £6500 in the bank. will this amount be ok for maintenance funds as i ve been in uk for 20 months. i ve 4 dependants ( 3 kids 1 wife ). please check my calculation for maintenance funds.
for me 800+800= £1600 ( college is in inner london )
for 4 dependants 600+600 = £1200* 4 = £4800
I am showing 2 months maintenance funds.
please help me guide in it.
thanks

You did not mention your course details so you need to understand what is immigration law says as per your circumstances.

Tier 4 law says:

If you will be studying in the UK for six months or less, you cannot bring your family members to the UK.

If you will be studying in the UK for more than six months, you can bring your family members to the UK.

Family members (also known as dependants) are:

your husband, wife or civil partner; or
your unmarried or same-sex partner; or
your children aged under 18 years old.

The money that your family members will need to show depends on your own circumstances, including:

the length of your course;
where you will be studying; and
whether you are currently studying or have recently studied in the UK.

Your family members (or you) must have enough money to cover their monthly living costs. Your family member may have to pay a lower amount of living costs if you are applying having completed a course, or are about to complete a course of study in the United Kingdom that was at least six months long in the past four months. If your family member does not have enough money and cannot prove it, their application will be refused.

The amount of money that your family members (or you) will need to show (as well as the money you must show to cover your own living costs in the United Kingdom) is:

In London
Each of your family members will need to show that they (or you) have £533 per month, for each month of your course up to a maximum of nine months

If you are applying having completed a course, or are about to complete a course of study in the United Kingdom that was at least six months long in the past four months, the money you will need to show is:

In London Each of your family members will need to show that they (or you) have £533 per month, for each month of your course up to a maximum of two months.

So you can evaluate as per your circumstances now!
