Applying for PSW in UK after my student visa has expired

Post by STHAM » Sun Dec 26, 2010 5:03 pm

Hi, my student visa expires on 31 Jan 2011 but I will only be able to apply for my PSW after 31 Jan because of the 90-day funds issue.

Can I re-enter the UK after 31 Jan and apply for the PSW in the UK? (I'm a non-visa national, so I was thinking of travelling around Europe before returning to apply for my PSW) Or am I only able to do it in my home country?

Thanks.

But would it be impossible to apply it in the UK?

its unlikely they will be able to process your app before 15 feb, considering it takes, 4-6 weeks normally.

what you can do is...

apply normally BEFORE expiry date on your visa.

on 15th feb, fill out change of circumstances form, and include updated bank statements etc. write a nice covering letter.

so by the time your application will be considered, case worker will have your updated statements so you will get the points!

I don't think that would be possible in my case, since I would need my passport in order to leave and re-enter the country, i.e. I can't submit my passport together with my application.

Expensive as it is, I guess the only solution is to apply it from my home country...

Thanks for your help!
