Definitely a FG minister for JUSTICE- after the next general election !! That will sort things out !

....absolutely !! ahern is claiming to be suffering from "ill-ness" so he's definitely a goner this year, so is his buddy, dempsey, transport minister- it 's only a matter of time.....2011 is here, and the wheel is turning !!

no I'm talking about the coming minister ,who will solve all the problems of the immigrants.

I dont expect miracles from the next Minister but regardless of who he is I believe he will be better by a million times that Ahern whose political career offerend NOTHING to Ireland but incompetence and ... oh yeah blasphemy laws.

hi guys,

i am applying for citizenship at the end of this month on form 8, i am looking at the documentation requested with the form and one of them is

â–¡ Letter from your current and previous employers covering employment dates from your date of arrival to date of application, showing
commencement and finish dates for each job to this office at your earliest convenience.

i have worked in eight different places ,in some for very short period and two of them are closed ,do i need to have letters from all of them?

appreciate for any reply.

In my opinion mention all your jobs that you had in the past on the form but attach letters from the employers you think you can get it + when applying send a cover letter stating the position regarding closed down employers, you can't submit what you don't have, i dont think it will become an issue, most recent employment would be the major one. good luck with the app.

Hi, I had the same problem, few businesses closed down since I worked there.. I just rang up the employer and asked for permission to type up the letter myself.. Nobody said no

Got exact starting/finishing dates from tax office.

I think it's better to have all the stuff as requested, otherwise you only gonna loose time with sending your papers back and forth..

Just wondering how long it takes someone with refugee status to get their naturalisation certificate.
Is it the same 26 months as others or is it lesser?

This was never an issue before. I know couple of my friends (from India) who got naturalised and submitted Birth Cert. issued by Indian Embassy.

DoJ is just trying to find every little excuse they can to refuse the applications these days.

May I suggest that you try http://www.yourmaninindia.com to get your Birth Cert. from India. They might be bit expensive but they do have a good track record.

Thanks guys. Finally, I received my Date of Birth certificate from India last week of November. After that I again sent my application to INIS and have finally gotten my reference number from INIS mid of December. As usual the waiting time mentioned on the letter is 26 months. It took me 3 months to get the birth certificate from India. So, in total, from mid July till mid December, I took 5 months just to sort out my birth certificate issue. Now, I am not sure how long the actual application process will take though I am happy that for the first time in my life I have seen my birth certificate. If not the Irish passport at least I will enjoy my Indian date of birth certificate: lol:

I am not sure about other country people but for Indians, for sure, my suggestion to everybody, who don't have birth certificate, would be, please get your date of birth certificate from India and don't waste your money and time on Indian Embassy certificates.

I still wonder, god forbid though, what if an Irish fella dies in India. Should Indian govt. respect the authenticity of an Irish embassy based in India or should they ask for a letter from Ireland before they dispatch his dead body? It sounds crude but it is the truth when you don't respect a document issued by an embassy, it shows that you don't respect its authenticity.

...i feel that citizens from Asia (India, Pakistan and Bangladesh) get singled out for special attention even though they went the extra mile to get all documentation and meet all criteria- keep the pressure on them !! They can't keep running forever....

as a matter of curiosity, can you give a rough idea as to when your friends had filed their forms for naturalisation (which year?).

...they replied Sept. 07 and JAN .08.....still awaiting a reply after they submiltted ALL documentation- both are indian-citizens.

Most of them applied in mid 2008 and have Irish their passports already.
2 guys (working for major IT firm on a good salary) applied in Late 2008 and have their passports as well.

They asked for documentation April 2010
Documentation sent May Ending..
No word from them till October 2010 when they requested BC
Nov.2010 more payslips and bank Statement requested..
Received yellow paper today for oath taking.

Sent yellow form back to DoJ the same day, received confirmation today and now waiting for my Naturalisation Cert.

Train is moving indeed BUT unlike other countries (where they have bullet trains) in Ireland it still runs on coal. Speed & efficiency is the issue here
