I have recently been accepted on the HSMP programme, and I was looking for further job offers. However I have been informed by the employer that I can not take an employment contract that lasts longer than the period of my leave to remain. This essentially means that I have to take on those jobs that I do not want to do and I can not further my career as I would have wanted. I was not aware of this rule and this has come to me as a big surprise. Can the moderators clarify on this issue please? [/b]

The standard HO response is that on HSMP you can whatever job you want (as long as its legal), but those working in the NHS also need follow NHS rules, they then refer you to http://www.nhsemployers.org.
