Spouse Settlement Visa - Change of address

Post by denver2k » Sun Jan 09, 2011 10:30 pm

Hi,

I have Indefinite Leave to Remain and just got married couple of months ago. My wife is in Pakistan and she is about to apply for Settlement Visa. Im providing my house agreement with Gas and electricity bills.

However, i may have to leave this property next month. If she apply this month with my existing documents, its a possibility that i might have changed my address by the time they will be reviewing the case.

I would like to know what's the impact and do they perform any verification if someone change address during the application process.

Thanks

Wait till you have moved house and then apply with documents relating to your new property. You will need at least a minimum of 6 months tennancy agreement, otherwise you could be refused on grounds that the ECO is not satisfied that you have sufficient accoommodation as the existing tennancy agreemnent will show that its nearing its expiry date

You do not need to show any utility bills with your wifes application, but you will have to show a 6 monthstennenacy agreement,so dont worry about bills, just make sure you get other documents that are required

Hope that helps

My existing agreement does not have any end date. If i use it then will it have any issue?

Do they perform any verification if i move while my application is with them. Logically, it doesn't make sense because people's circumstances and accommodation can change.

Thanks in advance

So which propertys housing report are you going to send to show that the accommodation would be sufficient for you and your wife

OK let me clear.

Suppose, On 20th Jan 2011, my Mrs submit documents, which includes all required docs + my current property's tenancy agreement and Bills. Property is big enough to accomodate both of us and agreement does not have any end date.

Now, if for some reason i move on 20th Feb 2011, i would like to know what are the implications as my Mrs application will probably still with them. I am not able to find anything on Homeoffice website, which says i need to notify them if i move my place.

Im actually not 100% sure that i will move next month but its like 50 50. And We dont want to wait until next month or so to apply with new tenancy agreement as it already takes about 3 months to process.

Hope my question is clear enough now.

Thanks
