Switching from Tier2 ICT

Hello All,

I'm currently on Tier2 ICT with an Indian based company and unfortunately unable to switch into Tier1 general due to my earnings do not give me sufficient points. I have couple of queries:

1. If I had to resign my current company who has sponsored my Tier2 ICT visa will I have to go back immediately or can I stay in UK for sometime searching for job after I leave that company? if yes, what is that time period.

2. How can I switch to Tier2 general.
