Just curious how come they given you a date for decision?
They replied to my email saying your appeal is being processed and we would contact you when a decision is known.

Because that is the maximum time it takes to get an an appeal hearing and where the decision will be made whether to grant or not grant a visa

Has anyone's spouses just applied for a settlement visa and have done the IELTS test?
They require A1 level but after contacting british council and ukba visa enquires, they are not saying what band score is required for this.
So anyone who's applied with this test, what score was allowed?

I see you applied on 16/11/2011, so around 10 weeks and you have the VISA that is brilliant.
Can I ask if ECO contacted you (the sponsor) or your employer during processing your application?

i have a news yesterday i sent an email to the
ukhub.pakistansettlementenquiriesandcomplaints@fco.gov.uk
and they replied me with this
Dear Sir/Madam,
Thank you for your email. All settlement applications are lodged in Pakistan and those submitted before 25th October 2010 are processed in the UK. Those submitted after 25th October are processed in Islamabad so if this applies to you please contact Islamabad on
visaenquiries.islamabad@fco.gov.uk.
The VAC will be contacting you when your paperwork is ready for collection. Please do not contact them direct as this may cause a delay to all applications.
Regards
UK Visa Section
Correspondence Team
any one got this email and now iam sent an email to the
visaenquiries.islamabad@fco.gov.uk. but still didnt got no reply dont know wats going on.

No you cant do that. You are not allowed to switch from a visitor visa to any other type of visa from within UK. You have to return back and apply from your home country.

Normally you take your passport, TB certificate and date you want to travel to UK after you get visa.
It will state that in the letter, if that is what you have recieved

I have a very important question to ask:
Why do we have to write a cover letter stating when the applicant is going to the UK? What is the reason for this?
Could someone please let me know, Thank you
