Hey thanks for the reply.Casa wrote:Do you actually intend to marry? You seem confused about the 6 month period. You don't have to wait 6 months to marry...you have to marry within 6 months of the visa being issued. You would apply for FLR(M) - Further Leave to Remain after the wedding. Once this has been granted you are able to legally work. You will also have to pass the new A1 English test before you apply for FLR as a Spouse. Bear in mind that on a Fiance visa you won't be able to continue with your part-time job until your FLR visa has been approved once you're married. Your girlfriend may struggle to show that she can support you financially if she is only working part-time although your savings would be taken into consideration. If you enter under a short term study visa, you will have to apply for a Certificate of Approval from the Home Office for permission to marry in the UK.
You're both over 21?
Hey thanks for the replyCasa wrote:Unless you have a Batchelors degree taught in English, you'll need to take the new A1 English test with one of the approved providers on the UKBA list.
I'm unsure what you mean about 6 months of bank statements as you won't be able to work legally on your fiance visa until after you've been granted FLR(M) following the wedding.
You can marry at a Registry office (if this is what you're referring to). It doesn't have to be a religious ceremony.
You can only apply after your girlfriend reaches the age of 21.

I'm not aware of that allowance.I checked with UKBA website with regards to age, we can apply as long as it is within 2 months of the 21st birthday and they would grant me the visa from the day she turns 21. I hope i am right.
