Joint JSA for myself and not wife

Hi

Due to job loss I have applied JSA over the phone, but was told that I have to claim for both wife and myself as joint.

The thing is that I don’t want my wife to apply as she will be dragged every two weeks to sign on, let alone that she has the headache of taking care of me and the house, is there a way were I can apply foe income based JSA for myself only?
