Yup you are right. Please see my earlier post on this - which includes an example. The way I see it is this - if this system comes into effect, it will primarily accomodate overflow from countries like the US where the salaries are high, but the immigration process is all screwed up. Applicants from low income countries will pay the penalty for now.ashishashah wrote:But in that case the lowest Range (16000 Pounds per annum) is very high for Asian countries...In India only Very senior ppl can get salary of 13,000,00 Rs Per Annum
So basically You cannot score in Wages section if you are from India

I missed the fine print while reading it in a hurry this morning. Yeah u r right - the country weighting remains. So it doesn't seem like a wicked ploy afterall. Did anyone find income tables for the various regions ?kurtis wrote:I believe there is a footnote in the command paper indicating that the earnings requirement will depend on where it is earned in a similar way to the hsmp. The figures quoted above only apply to countries that would now fall into the same income band as the uk

HSMP does not gurantee job! It's UK govt's ploy to attract flow of money to their economy.
So, they target only those who can bring money to UK.
It was never developed as "charity scheme" - ie. to help people from developing world to migrate to UK.
