PSW to Tier 1 General - Urgent please help

Post by mailers » Thu Feb 10, 2011 12:58 pm

Hi,

I got my PSW in Feb 2009 and now I am up for renewal. I will be extending to - In-country applicant Tier 1 general.

I am very confused regarding the category I should apply my extension to remain in the UK. Please can someone help with 2 questions:

1. Which form should I use? I think I should use this -Is that correct?: http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitec ... l-form.pdf

2. In the Points based calculator on the UKBA site there is a question:

What type of application are you making? -
1. Switching your current immigration category in the United Kingdom
2. Extending your stay in the United Kingdom

What should I select?
I think that I am extending my stay in the UK but at the same time am I changing the immigration category since PWS was Tier 1 and now I am applying under Tier 1 general.

I intend to claim the following points:
1. Age: 26 yrs - 20 points
2. Qualification: UK Master's degree - 35 points
3. Earnings: £41k - 25 points
4. Uk Experience: - 5 points
5. English lang: 10 points
6. Maintenance: - 10 points

Total: 105 points

Am I correct in assuming that I qualify?

Any help will be much appreciated

You have selected the correct form.

In the point based calculater you need to put switching you current Immigration category in the united kingdom.as extending is for those who are extending their stay under Tier 1 G.

You appear to have enough points to qualify for it but make sure you submit all the documents specified by Tier 1 guideness.

Good luck
