very minor name change and oci

Post by shajacksha » Tue Feb 15, 2011 12:15 pm

Hello all
Not sure if anyone has faced this before and wondering if anyone could throw some
light.

My wife name in Indian passport is as follows.

First name: aa bb
Surname: cc dd

During naturalization they included an hyphen in the surname and her British passport is the same, which is as follows:

First name: aa bb ( no change)
Surname: cc-dd (hyphen)

Would this be an issue while applying for surrender certificate and subsequently for OCI, keeping in mind that the name essentially did not change?

I don't think it should be an issue. It's probably something they'll overlook, unless they're looking for reasons to refuse!
