UK recruiting doctors from India

Post by PinkFloyd » Thu Feb 17, 2011 6:37 pm

Hi All,

This bit of news item got me interested..

http://www.workpermit.com/news/2011-02- ... -india.htm

On googling, I found the report from BBC way back in Jun 2010. I don't know it is news lag or news lack that it made it only now. Or else google, has failed me.

I was wondering how what is the route for doctors into UK/NHS? I know someone who completed MBBS back in India and practising as a Junior doctor.

I don't expect to be spoon fed but a general pointing in the direction where I could look around.

Thanks..

For non-training posts, any legal immigration status with no restriction on employment is good enough.

For training posts, it is predominantly Tier 2 (General). Under Tier 1 (General) employment in training posts is subject to certain conditions being satisfied (245D(iii)).
