psw validity

I am currently on PSW visa which has validity of more than 6 months left.

Lets say i apply for Tier 2 and get awarded tier 2 in May 2011.

What will happen to my psw visa? will it be cancelled straight away?

Your Tier 2 will supercede your PSW.

thanks vinny,

so, if i make second tier 2 app, lets say in July, after being awarded tier 2 in May....

I wont be able to get any advantage(just assume there will be some advantages from psw-tier 2 switching) eventhough, on my passport psw still has valid leave..

Its a very hypothetical question but would appreciate if you could walk me through here

Tier 2 application in May (if successful) will invalidate your current Tier 1 (PSW) visa. Tier 2 application in July (if successful) will invalidate your Tier 2 leave granted in May.

You can only have one (valid) visa at the given time, irrespective of the number of vignettes in your passport and / or even if expiry date specified on one/some of the vignettes is yet to pass!
