Accomodation Test

Post by Iman230 » Tue Feb 22, 2011 7:42 pm

FAO: John (Assistance) or anyone else who can assist here

Following Post topic -----> http://www.immigrationboards.com/viewto ... 871#427871

I have a question around this following a response from the Housing Association.

PLEASE HELP - THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT

At my Parental home where I intend to accommodate my spouse, there are currently 5 adults & 3 children (including me '8') & will become 9 with my Spouse. Now the situation is that the housing association have written to state that my parental home has 5 bedrooms following a recent conversion, and is suitable for a maximum of 8 household members. Will this be a problem? In the settlement application (Point 8.64 onwards) it states how many rooms and how many other rooms are their in the property, well there are 5 bedrooms and 2 other rooms. So would this be suitable for the application where the 5 bedrooms have been assessed for 8 household members.

Need some advice (Please refer to previous post, where apparently I passed the accommodation testing, but received a letter that could potentially hamper this) Need some reassurances.

Hope you can help, anyone out there, you would be taking a lot of stress away from me.

Children under aged 1-10 only count as half a person.

So currently
5 adults + 3 children aged 1-10 = 6.5 people
With your wife it will be 7.5

When the eldest child is 11 then it will be:

5 adults + 1 child over 10 + 2 'halves' = 8 persons

Therefore the letter is not inconsistent with what you were previously advised.

Hi Greenie, thankyou for your swift reply, Some reassurance has allowed me to breathe slightly.

The children are as follows (My Brothers Children) This is correct as of Intended date of application (July 2011)

Eldest Boy - 11
Girl - 10
Youngest Boy - 3

So it looks like it's all OK then? So the letter is good to go.
How about if it was any different then? Would then the 2 additional/other rooms come in to play?
