Non EU travelling to UK with EU child

Hi I am applying for visitors visa (i am non EU) and wish to travel to UK with my child who is 3 and EU citizen (swedish). His mom is also EU but she will not be joining us.

Do i have to carry with me any kind of documentions in this case? I will carry a letter from my wife consenting me to travel with my child.

I could be wrong but think you will need a visa
