Normal Procedure For Commnicating Approved Visa?

Post by stormdrainuk » Sun Feb 27, 2011 8:48 am

Hi

Looking for the opinion of people who may have been through something similar:

My fiance has been in Amman, Jordan for 7 months waiting for a visa to be processed so she can come to the UK and we can get married (I am a UK national). A week ago she got an email saying that a decision has been made, but they couldn't tell her by email. On Wednesday, she was told by phone to go the UK embassy with her passport this morning to get a decision. However, they have taken her passport and told her they will be in touch, but didn't say when or what the decision was.

The status online says "collected" and has done for the last 7 months.

Is this normal protocol? Is this procedure a sign that the decision has gone one way or the other?

The waiting is killing us, and if this goes on much further we will have to make a decision about cancelling our wedding.

Thoughts and experiences appreciated
