Tier 1 and Business visa

Hello,
I am currently holder of Tier 1 immigrant visa active starting April 11th and wondering what will happen if I visited UK with a business visa before this date ? can I switch within UK to the Tier 1 am holding ? or is it mandatory to leave and re-enter UK ?

No.
You'll need to exit UK before the "effective / issue" date of Tier 1 (General) visa.

OK I will plan to exit and re-enter. But is it really mandatory to exit before the effective start date for Tier 1 ? if I stayed longer with my valid business Visa and then used Tier 1 when am back again, will it be a problem ?
