Tier1- Claiming Child Benefit

Hello

I am a New Zealander on Tier 1 visa
Am I able to claim child benefit without effecting the ILR application?

I have No resource to poublic founds in my passport.

New Zealand has Social security agreement and child beneft can be claimed.

Is anyone able to confrim if they applied and ILR was fine?

As you are a New Zealander, and for the reasons you state, you claiming Child Benefit is not a problem. Because of "small print" in the legislation, for you Child Benefit is not within the definition of Public Funds.

However, a slight warning, don't be tempted to claim Tax Credits, because those are not covered by the Social Security Agreement between the two countries.
