Completing a UK Work Permit Extension

Post by sharonabbott » Wed Jun 14, 2006 5:32 pm

I'm completing a WP1X for an employee who is coming to the end of a 48 month permit and I'd like to extend his employment for another 12 months. One of the questions on the form is 'Why do we need to retain this person beyond the original period granted' and I'm guessing there are key words/phrases that may 'score' points. Can anyone help or suggest some compelling or previously successful examples? Many thanks.

From my own HR department -

"This employee performs a key function in our business and we have ongoing need of his/her skills".

No doubt others will add more to that shortly...

I had to write my own bit for this section! I work in a client facing role so mine went something like this:

Has gained specialised knowledge of the way our business works

Has significant contact with existing recurring clients and has extensive knowledge of their businesses and industries that has been built up over the last few years working wih us.
