BC for Child Born out of UK

Post by valluvan » Thu Mar 03, 2011 4:44 pm

Hi,
Myself,Wife and my Child recently got ILR, me being the main applicant under WP+HSMP+TIER1 scheme.

I understand I can apply for BC, after 1 year of completing ILR which would be next february.

Feb2012 myself and my wife would have completed 6 years in the UK(and 1 Year ILR), however my child was born in June2007(in my home country) and entered UK in Sep2007, hence would not have completed 5 years in Feb2012.Does it mean that my Child can apply for BC only in Sep2012??

Thanks
Val

For child born outside the UK the registration is done through discretion. See the points mentioned here

Thanks Nax.Does it mean we all 3 can apply at the same time in Feb2012 for BC or get our BCs first and then apply for her a bit later??

You may apply for your child's registration as a British citizen no earlier than either parent's / joint naturalisation application.
