T2 (General) application - only 2 years granted?

Post by MichelleP » Tue Mar 08, 2011 1:32 pm

I just got my Biometrics Residence Permit card today and was shocked to know that I was granted only 2 years to stay.

Valid until 14-12-2013
Place and Date of issue: UK 02-03-2011

1) I thought I would have been granted 3 years for the first instance automatically? Is it a mistake and should I appeal? If yes, please could you advise on what document I should provide to appeal?

I am not sure if this information is relevant.. I converted my student dependent visa (which will expire on 31 October 2011) to T2 General visa because I got a job.

2) Does is it mean that my student dependent visa is no longer valid because I have T2 General visa now?

Thanks!

Read 245ZG. Period and conditions of grant.
Since leave is granted under 245ZF(e)(xxv), 245ZG(f) applies. So, the question is ... what was the period of sponsorship as mentioned in CoS - 2 years or 3 years?
