Visit visa query: original documents or photocopies

Dear All

I am a british citizen in uk and planning to call my family member from India. I have a permannet job. I know about all the documents require to sponser a family member.

I was wondering if I send them a scan copies of all the financial douments to support sponsership then would it will be accepted on the part of sponsership or would it may become a cause for visa refusal.

please advise - It urgent.

I dont want to send a originals as I heard that they may lost in post sometimes but also I dont want to take a risk if because of photocopies of the sponser, visa get refused.

I asked the same question from the UK border agency n india, but did not get a clear answer.
