Does letter from bank need a stamp?

Post by distresseddad » Sat Mar 12, 2011 3:48 pm

I am slightly confused by the policy guidance.

I have applied for a visa for my infant son in India. He was born in the UK and we went for a family holiday to India. He now needs entry clearance.

I have managed to procure a letter from HSBC on their letterhead in the desired format- stating the date issued, my name, address, account no, minimum balance for the past 3 months (which is more than the required minimum). The letter is hand-signed by one of their customer service advisors.

They say they cannot stamp it though. they have also printed out an ad-hoc statement on their letterhead for the past 3 months (cannot obtain an original statement as this is an e-isa and the frequecy is 6-monthly). They have not stamped this either.

My question is- is this sufficient? Has anyone had a successful experience on applying with this level of evidence?

Yes it is sufficient, I did it with mine and it was accepted.
