Tier 1 (PSW) and Norwegian partner

Post by bravo.twozero » Thu Mar 10, 2011 6:47 pm

Hi All,

I'm on a PSW which expires in First week of September 2011

I have applied to Schengen visa so I can go get engaged to my Girl in Norway. Still waiting for the Appointment to submit my Documents.

My Question is I'm planning to Switch to TIER2 visa as soon as the new rules are released. So is it advisable to travel to Norway under this situation ?

Thanks in advance :D

you can enter UK as long as you have a valid psw visa...no limits!

and its upto you to make in-county or out-country application.... you have got good few months remaining

Thank you Arsenal for your advise. On the same note if I'm on 25K now and if i can't get my SOC matched for my job title after new rules my company is willing to match 32K or 36K or whatever the required SOC.

So my question is do i have to prove this over 6 months payslip ? or can my company say this person is now paid 32K from nowonwards when i apply for visa (For real btw)

Thank you :D

On the same note my soon to be wife want to move to UK with me. She is a Norwegian citizen and because Norway is not part of EU what sort of limit she can expect ?

We're thinking about moving to Norway after couple of years living in UK.

Can she work in UK with a Norwegian passport ?

Thanks and sorry for asking too many questions.

Norway is not part of EU, but part of EEA, as is Iceland. They have unlimited rights of work in EU... Switzerland also, through some agreements, has such rights.

You can both live and work in UK freely.

Only thing, Norwegian citizens would be classified as overseas for fees in UK unis, just to note.

you dont PROVE your prospective earnings....employer's word is enough.

But you can only make app under new rules cuz last panel met on 1st March and your employer's out-of-panel COS request will not be entertained by UKBA as you have got few months left on your current visa. So, you better hope your job title is on their new list (which it will be if you are doing something that your employer is willing to pay 32k/36k:)

Thank you :D

Thank you for your information.

I have one more question please. My girl would like to come and stay in UK and want to know if there is any way I can extend my stay in UK because of our Status (Engagement is considered officially married in Norway), I do have to switch to TIER2 but we're thinking about a easy way cause Work permit is a headache.

Can this be done ?

Thank you very much.

Arsenal thanks but I'm not too clear with your answer. I didn't understand.. :(

If i understood correctly after April 6th I can see the new list and if my job is in the list and have enough earnings no problem. If i have my job in the list and dont have enough earnings my company can match it and tell UKBA I'm earning that x amount. No need to prove. If my job title is not in the list I'm out of luck ?

After April 6th..

Possibly in around May after my engagement, I already applied for Schengen Visa and waiting for the appointment to submit my documentation. So I'm planning to go and get my engagement done and come back to UK and apply for extension.

I still have some hope for TIER1 General tbh :)

Also is there anyway I can stay using my partners status (She is a Norwegian citizen)

Thanks mate :D

http://www.immigrationboards.com/viewto ... 5&start=20

go there and find my post in the bottom-half of the page where i have posted two links.

Hopefully you will see your job title in one of those two documents.

Code of practice is still not available so we dont know what salary they would require but if your job title is in there, than you can be 80% sure that they woudnt recommend more than 36k for the job!

I am sorry i cant be of much (immigration) help regarding the fact that your gf is norwegian:)

tier 1 General WILL be abolished on 6th April!
