Regarding Tier-1 PSW Depandant Visa status

Hey,

I got my PSW Visa around 2 months back. However, I got married within the last month. My wife wants to pursue her post-graduate studies in UK, while I would hopefully be working. She already has offers from various universities. I wanted to know whether she would be able to study on a dependant visa or does she have to apply for a student visa?

If she can be certain that she will complete her course before expiry of her "dependant" leave to enter / remain, then she may study in the UK while being on "dependant immigration status".

If she is unable to complete the course (for any reason) within the time period that her "dependant leave" is valid, then assuming no changes in immigration rules in the interim, she will need a CAS from the Tier 4 sponsor and will need to apply for entry clearance as Tier 4 migrant to be able to continue her course in the UK (cannot switch from within UK as 245ZX(b) is not met).

There are no restrictions on a dependant visa whether for studies or work.

But if she is awarded adegree on a PSW dependant visa, the she herself cannot apply for a PSW visa from within the UK.

She would have to leave the UK and apply for it if she wishes to do that.
