Noob applying for ILR

Post by 215HAN » Tue Mar 15, 2011 7:26 pm

Hi,

I am hoping you can help. It has just come to my attention that my wife's visa is due to expire and I need to submit application (SET M) for ILR. I am a bit clueless as what documents are required as I may not have documents covering up to 2 years and for 3-5 months we have lived at another address because current house was being renovated, will this affect my application and does my partner need to be on the electoral register??

Your help is much appreciated!

Look forward to your reply's.

The documents you need to submit are listed on form SET(M). Do you have anything at all to prove you were living together at the other address, either in single or joint names?
Your wife doesn't need to be on the Electoral Roll. In fact if she isn't entitled to vote it would be illegal to add her.
Has she passed the Life in the UK test or completed an approved ESOL course?
