Under current regulations you can if you apply for a Certificate of Approval from the Home Office, unless you can find a vicar to perform the ceremony in a Church of England.
Bear in mind though that you'll have to return to your home country to apply for a Spouse settlement visa. You can't switch from visitor to spouse from within the UK.
Also although you may have a visitor visa valid for 1 year, this only allows you to stay in the UK for 6 months in every 12...not for the whole year.

The basic rule regarding finance is that you need to show you will have a minimum of £102.75 remaining weekly for you both after rent or mortgage, council tax and any credit/loan repayments have been paid.
You also need proof of adequate accommodation in the UK. Remember that you won't be able to work legally until you have applied for and been granted your 2 year Further Leave to Remain spouse visa after the wedding. Postal applications for FLR(M) are cheaper than applying in person, but take around 12 weeks to process.

If family members will offer financial support ("third party support") until you are eligible to work, then you can provide evidence of that as well.

finance for fiance visa

Post by shaby » Sun Mar 13, 2011 6:20 am

thanks for the reply, but to make things more clear i want to know that how many months bank statement do we need to show also incase of flr application for fiance visa, do i have to show my bank statement or does it has to be my fiances satement or both of us, also we have a friend working as a doctor in cardiff , he is ready to provide all the sponsorhip letters including proof of accommodation , do u think this will also support our application,as my fiance has no savings and the only savings that i have is app 3/4 k british pounds including my monthly salary as a doctor in saudia, plz note i also have a son 3 yrs old with me.

You need to submit whatever evidence you have that you and your fiancée will be able to support yourselves without recourse to public funds.

Submit bank statements showing whatever funds you are relying on. For instance, last 6 months' of your savings account; last 6 months of any of your fiancée's bank accounts. Does she have a job?

About your son: do you have sole responsibility for him? If you plan to live with him and your future wife, you will need to show that you have around £155 per week to support yourselves.

Also, friends aren't acceptable as 3rd party financial support. It has to be a family member. Is your fiance employed?

Shaby, your British fiance won't need to take the A1 English test, but you will, unless your nationality is on the UKBA exempt list as shown on the UKBA website, or you have a Batchelor's Degree taught in English. The test must be taken with an approved provider...again listed on the website.
I'm guessing that your fiance posted this question on your behalf....which tends to get confusing!
