Looking for options to bring my girlfriend to the UK

Hello everyone! I'll give you a little background to see if someone can help me a bit.

I'm a Spanish national (EU) living and working in the UK, my girlfriend however, is american, and I'm looking for a way to bring her over legally.

Problem is we're not married nor we have lived together yet, we actually want to move in together and test the waters before marrying.

Unfortunately, as much as I'd like that, I don't have the money to maintain both of us here without her working...

She's thinking of applying for a student visa, but she'll need to look for grants and similar aids.

Beyond that, what are our options, if any?

In that case, you cannot "bring her over". She may apply for entry clearance, on her own merit, in an immigration category that she qualifies under.

Or you can go and live in the US - to test the waters.
