Marriage Visitor Visa

Post by singhtouch » Wed Mar 16, 2011 4:28 pm

Hi guys

I've just joined the forum

:)

reason being these couple of questions are bugging me.

Marriage Visitor Visa

1. After the visa expires and shes goes back to her country, then is it possible to apply for settlement?

2.How easy is it to get this marriage visitor visa? as i've looked at the requirements are easy.

3. the question on the form is confusing me which is, what SHALL i PUT?

If you are not a national of the country in which you are applying, what permission do you have to stay in that country

4. Does the visa start from the date you applied or when it is issued?

5.if i plan to get married in august when is the ideal time to apply for this type of visa?

your help would be much appreciated thanks in advance.

follow guidance and should be ok

3. the question on the form is confusing me which is, what SHALL i PUT?

If you are not a national of the country in which you are applying, what permission do you have to stay in that country so if you are in the US applying from US and say you are Indian you would say what visa you had to reside in the US . If US national applying in US you do not put anything

4. Does the visa start from the date you applied or when it is issued? when issued

5.if i plan to get married in august when is the ideal time to apply for this type of visa?
depends on country you are applying form and the speed they process

your help would be much appreciated thanks in advance.

why aren't you applying for a fiance visa? That way she can apply for the spouse visa from within the UK once you are married.

1. Yes once you are married she can apply for a entry clearance with a view to settlement. She would initially be granted 27 months leave to enter and then would be able to apply for settlement after two years in the UK with you. Have a look at the 'sticky' topics in this section for the requirements.

2. It is straightforward as long as you provide the required evidence

3. The form is for your fiance to complete. So if she is applying from India and she is not a national of India she needs to state what her immigration status is there.

4. It will be valid from the date it was issued or the date your fiance states she intends to travel
