Referee's Expired Passport

Hello friends,

I am applying for my BC in 2 days, one of my referee's is a British but with an expired British passport.

Will he still be able to be a valid guarantor for my bC application or must I get someone else to do it?

I'll appreciate a swift response please as application is going into NCS on Wed.
