European Travel

Post by Ghostpops » Mon Mar 21, 2011 3:08 pm

I am a South African and my wife is a Dutch national we are both currently residing in the UK. I am on a EEA spousal visa (6 months) and in the process of applying for the 5 year residency visa.

We would like to travel to several countries in Europe including the Netherlands. Would I need to get a Schengen visa for example travelling to the Netherlands?

Hi Ghostpops,

I will refer to my viewpoint, which is that you >>do not need a visa<<, however you may have to be a bit assertive when trying to claim your right to travel without a visa.

Good luck in your travels!

It helps a lot once you have your UK issued Residence Card as a family member of an EEA citizen.

See http://eumovement.wordpress.com/2010/08 ... to-travel/ if you want to travel without a visa.
