Redundant on Tier2 after 4 years BUT have a new job offer

Post by JohnSA » Thu Mar 24, 2011 9:39 pm

Hi
I have been working for a company that has just been liquidated, I have been with them for 5 years and the last 4 years on a WP. I have another job offer and they are willing to sponsor me.

1. Can i just transfer my work permit to them, or do I/they need to go through the whole process of applying to hire me and grant work permit from scratch?

2. What are the chances that this will be succesful in the 60 days I have before I need to leave the country?

3. Is it possible to make this application from within the UK? or do I need to go home to apply?

Please Help!!!
Thanks in advance!!

are they already registered?. if yes, then after 6th april they can assign you cos without much hassle. if not, well, u must go home as it takes 3-odd months to get registered

Thanks for your reply!

3 Months, really?? That is so long, why do they give you 60 days then, seems like no point as it is almost impossible to find new job and wp in that time *sigh*

I have a immigration lawyer helping me and the company do an application and I am on the shortage occupation list. Is there no chance it will come back quicker? They thought more like 6-8 weeks? are they being Naive?

thanks again
