Please help, possibly lost document ~

Post by khhnese » Sat Jun 17, 2006 3:52 am

Hi All,

How long it takes you to receive the document returned from Home office? I was told that my document was sent out on April 25 by airmail, but it's almost 8 weeks passed. I don't think it usually takes this long through the airmail and I have a bad feeling that it got lost already.

I worry that if i have to wait for up to 12 weeks and report the lost document to Home Office, it will take few more weeks to process it and will delay my schedule to enter UK.

Can anyone share your experience or advices? Thank you so much for the help on this board.

Hi khhnese,

No panic. It takes sometimes to reach you especially when it is sent by royalmail. It also depends where you live. It will certainly get to you once you use a very descriptive address.

Mine was also like that but i got it eventually.

Summary of application status

Out of country applicant - Taiwan
Documents sent using DHL - 20 Mar 2006
Credit card charged - 26 Mar 2006
Original documents and approval letter sent by Work Permit using Royal Mail - 26 April 2006

I phoned and emailed Home Office several times and they keep telling me that they cann't help at this moment until I wait for up to 12 weeks. The local postal office said it usually takes 7-11 days between Taiwan and UK; thus, I feel my doc got lost already and it will delay my schedule entering UK if I wait for another month and still got nothing. I just faxed an urgent treatment form to request a duplicate copy of my decision letter and don't know whether they will agree to issue me a copy on this case.

Again, thanks for all your help here and I will be glad to post my background here and help more ppl after I receive my decision letter.
