ILR Set M Form question - To tick or not to tick

Post by Bexsie » Mon Mar 21, 2011 9:04 am

I have read the above sticky and am a little confused. My husband is here on a 2 year settlement visa and about to apply for ILR. Having read the SET M Form there is a question about claiming benefits. It asks if you or partner receives benifits such as tax credits, housing benefit etc. There is a box to tick for applicant and another for me to tick.

Now I know my husband must tick no to all benefits but I am in receipt of Child tax credits, working tax credits, housing benefit, will I tick yes in my box. The sticky suggests that we tick no but is that just in my husbands boxes????

Im sorry if I sound abit thick but dont want to make any stupid mistakes.

Also I have been made redundant and am now pregnant. My husband works part time. I have been told I am able to claim Maternity allowence. Will this effect my husbands ILR? As a British Citizen surely this would be allowed? Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi. Yes you can claim maternity allowance. mat allowance will not in any way affect your husbands ilr. My mat allowance just finished and we have appointment tomorrow at the peo for husbands ilr.

As for tax credits and housing benefit I think its in the sticky, I have vaguely looked. Will look again for you when I get a chance

Don't worry, its not good for you! And congratulations for the pregnancy.good lucka
