work permit - change of employer

Hi,
I am a work permit holder and lost my job under redundancy. I found a same position in a different company. I didn't inform the homeoffice about my new employer as I was told by an advisor that I am ok to carry out the new position as my job was on shortage list at that time and I am going to do the same job in the new company.
Recently I found that I have done the biggest mistake and spoke to the HR department and then they suspended me from work. So I was thinking to go back to my country after sort out my bills, loans etc.
The following week, some officers from homeoffice have visited that company for a random check and HR department has passed my information as well.
I don't want to be in the UK any more if my stay is illegal. But now I don't know what's going on and didn't hear anything from homeoffice yet.
Can any one help me by giving me an idea about what can be happened next ?

Chami,

When did you get your WP and when was your redundancy declared? and when is your visa valid untill? and how long did you work for another employer? You may can find another sponsor to get visa done.

But that completely depends on the above questoins.

Hi there, I got my visa on 13/03/2008 and valid till 13/03/2013...Lost my first job end of November 2008 and found the second job on 05 January 2009.

After leaving your first company who has sponsored WP, did you receive any letter from HO asking to submit your passport or find another sponsor within 28 days? Have you travelled to your home country within this time?

If you answer is no to fist questoin and yes to second, that means your WP is not cancelled. My sincier suggestion is to find someone who can sponsor Tier 2.
